The Fourth Khalifa of Islam Amir al-Mu'mineen, Sayyiduna Ali (رضی اللہ عنہ) narrates that the final Prophet of Allah Rasoolullah (ﷺ) said: "Whoever bathes the deceased, dresses them in the shroud, applies perfume, carries the funeral bier, performs the funeral prayer, and conceals any flaws they observe, will be purified from their sins as if it were the day they were born." (Ibn Majah, Kitab al-Jana'iz, Bab Ma Ja'a fi Ghusl al-Mayit, 2/201, Hadith 1462)
